First of all, this is manifested in surveillance cameras and systems collecting information about users. In my project, I would like to present the opportunity to approach this point. A voluntary test group has given me their GPS coordinates so it is possible to track the location of any participant any time. However, it is possible to look at this location only in the exhibition space in virtual reality. Walking around the city map in VR, you can track the location of the entire test group, as in reality it can be done by intelligence officers or large corporations using data from mobile phones. Thus, the viewer is invited to touch the modern ephemeral point of power in the virtual world. Do not be afraid to interact with it and overcome the phobia of global surveillance. For example, once researchers from Stanford University suggested that subjects live for a while in the body of a superhero. As a result of the experiment, it turned out that the volunteers in life became more helpful than before. В своем проекте я хочу дать возможность приблизится к этой точке. Добровольная тестовая группа людей раздавали мне свои gps координаты, &nbsp;для того чтобы в любой момент можно было отследить местоположение любого участника. Однако посмотреть на это местоположение можно только в экспозиционном пространстве в виртуальной реальности. Гуляя по карте города в vr можно проследить за расположением всей тестовой группы, как в действительности это могут сделать сотрудники спецслужб или крупные корпорации использующие данные с мобильного телефона. Таким образом зрителю предлагается прикоснуться в виртуальном мире к современной эфемерной точке власти. Не бояться с ней взаимодействовать и побороть фобию глобальной слежки. К примеру, однажды исследователи из Стэнфорда (Stanford University) предложили испытуемым пожить некоторое время в теле супергероя. По итогам эксперимента оказалось, что добровольцы и в жизни стали более услужливыми, чем ранее. This is the emancipation of the imperious regime of imprisonment by digital means in order to open a space in which you can not enjoy. The free space of the room is indicated by the chaperone boundaries of virtual reality. The game is possible only within this space. The game score is the time spent in this zone wearing virtual reality glasses. The position of the glasses is controlled by sensors. When you take your glasses off, the game ends. When you cross the borders of this free space, the game ends. The player simultaneously becomes a prisoner of virtual boundaries of the free space of his own room and virtual communication. The installation is an offline visiting room. Visitors to the exhibition can meet the player by entering the room and putting on glasses. The virtual space was created inside the VRChat social platform. Users of this platform can also be visitors. свобода изменения условий выбора. Люди, находящиеся в условиях заключения, оказываются отключенными от паттернов коллективного воображаемого. Власть, исходящая от природы вещей, преобразуется природой цифровых вещей, где господствует логика алгоритмов. «Зона» - это игра добровольного заключения. Это эмансипация властного режима заключения цифровыми средствами в целях открытия пространства в котором можно не наслаждаться. Свободное пространство комнаты очерчивается сопроводительными границами виртуальной реальности. Игра возможна только в этом пространстве. Счет игры — время, проведенное в этой зоне в очках виртуальной реальности. Положение очков контролируются датчиками. При снятии очков игра заканчивается. При выходе за границы игра заканчивается. Игрок одновременно становится узником виртуальных границ свободного пространства собственной комнаты и виртуальной коммуникации. Инсталляция представляет из себя&nbsp; комнату для посещений. Посетители выставки могут встретиться с игроком&nbsp; (автором проекта), зайдя в комнату и надев на себя очки. Виртуальное пространство создано внутри социальной платформы VRChat. Посетителями могут стать также пользователи этой платформы. Строгое выключения и включение света в виртуальном мире&nbsp; способствует поддержанию распорядка дня. Аватар игрока делается на основе его фотограмметрии. После автора испытывали свои силы еще 4 человека. Any game replaces some conditions of choice with others; in Ellina's work this replacement is radical in its own way. However, what both Ellina and the viewer face is not just zero choice, not a sheer lack of options, but such a simplification, in which the player's dependence on the other is at the center. For the viewer, there is a choice between doing nothing, remaining alone with the white emptiness, or dealing with Ellina; for Ellina, the situation is even worse - she can deal with something other than her own loneliness, only when some spectator deigns to visit her. It is the avatar of Hellenic who is the narcissistic core, not only located in the center of the game space, but also common for him and for everyday reality outside of it, where we are all also endowed with the image of our own body as a representative of our "I". It is the narcissistic image of one's own body that underlies the existentialist notions of autonomy, on the one hand, as the embodiment of human freedom, on the other, as the quintessence of its absence, about a portable solitary prison cell to which everyone is doomed. The accumulation of points that Ellina is busy with in her project can also be read as the erection of a monument to narcissism: this is a pure quantitative measure of her feat, which cannot be exchanged for anything. At the same time, real bodies are deprived of the possibility of meeting in the project. The only hope remains the speech - with Ellina in the game you can try to talk. Sara Culmann The minimalism of Ellina Khalyapina's work “Zone” refers to the functionality of the prototype - a working template that is not extended by a particular case of design. The singularity of the confinement cell works in favor of this statement. Obviously, a prison implies an array of such singular examples, where each is based on a zero conceptual model. Project "Zone" is not a game about personal experience, despite the first person game mode (from the first person), it is just an "example to others" packed in compiled code. Considering the project as a ready-made, self-copying game asset, one can imagine the individual development paths of each player, the variability of which imitates the freedom of choice. This form of the project gives rise to political fantasies - as you know, the state retains a monopoly on violence under various regimes, but the state monopoly in the penitentiary system is a discursive issue. Imagine an order to develop a prison, more indulgent, more fashionable, developed according to the laws of technical evolution - this is a typical move of the neo-liberal system called “harm reduction”. The concept of legitimate punishment has gone from bodily exhaustion of prisoners of stone sacks to the procedure of suppressing brain neurons in a virtual reality machine. Transformed from obvious old-fashioned brutality to methodical and rational suppression, punishment, like any commodity, can be transferred from one asset to another, bought out or sold. The project constructs benevolent coercion created on the drivers of entertainment technologies and, if analyzed, looks like a potential outsourcing development of mutually beneficial friendship between politicians and capital. Perhaps this idea is prompted by the infiltration of repressive elements into civil society simulators, such as VRChat, on the platform of which the project is made, and this is a reason to think whether games in digital democracy are a new agora or a testing ground for regime institutions. See them all below. https://ellinagennadievna.com/ru-review_zone Sat, 30 Jan 2021 01:01:32 +0000 Ellina Gennadievna https://ellinagennadievna.com/ru-review_zone EN ЗОНА ︎ Глеб Напреенко Виртуальную реальность иногда называют "расширенной" или "дополненной"; в работе Эллины Халяпиной это расширение или дополнение откровенно сопряжено с сужением и редукцией: и для самой художницы, подвергшей себя аскезе добровольного заточения в собственной комнате наедине с выходом в "игру", и для зрителей - соучастников, при попытке присоединиться к игре обнаруживающих себя в предельно бедном виртуальном мире, где в равномерно белом пространстве нет ничего, кроме аватара Эллиины. В центре замысла этой работы, по словам самой Эллины, -- вопрос о том, как может быть организовано множество вариантов выбора. Любая игра заменяет одни условия выбора другими; в работе Эллины эта замена по-своему радикальна. Однако то, с чем сталкивается и Эллина, и зритель -- это не просто ноль выбора, не чистое отсутствие вариантов, но такое упрощение, в котором в центре оказывается зависимость игрока отдругого. Для зрителя есть выбор между ничего не делать, оставаясь наедине с белой пустотой, или же иметь дело с Эллиной; для Эллины дело обстоит ещё хуже -- она может иметь дело с чем-то, кроме собственного одиночества, лишь когда какой-то зритель соизволит её посетить. Именно аватар Эллины -- нарциссическое ядро, не только находящееся в центре игрового пространства, но и общее для него и для обыденной реальности за его пределами, где мы все также наделены образом собственного тела как представителем нашего "я". Именно нарциссический образ собственного тела лежит в основе эксистенциалистских представлений об автономии, с одной стороны, как о воплощении человеческой свободы, с другой, как о квинтессенции ее отсутствия, о переносной одиночной тюремной камере, на которую обречен каждый. Накопление баллов, которым занята в своем проекте Эллина, можно также прочитать как воздвижение монумента нарциссизму: это чистая количественная мера её подвига, которую ни на что нельзя обменять. При этом реальные тела возможности встречи в проекте лишены. Единственной надеждой остаётся речь -- с Эллиной в игре можно попытаться поговорить. Сара Кульманн Минимализм работы Эллины Халяпиной “Зона” отсылает к функциональности прототипа - работающего шаблона, который не расширен частным случаем дизайна. В пользу такого утверждения работает единичность камеры заключения. Очевидно, что тюрьма подразумевает массив, состоящий из таких единичных примеров, где в основе каждого лежит нулевая концептуальная модель. Проект “Зона” - это не игра про личный опыт, несмотря на режим first person game (от первого лица), это всего лишь “пример другим”, упакованный в скомпилированный код. Рассматривая проект как готовый, самокопирующийся гейм-ассет, можно представить себе индивидуальные пути развития каждого игрока, вариативность которых имитирует свободу выбора. Такая форма проекта дает ход политическим фантазиям - как известно, государство оставляет себе монополию на насилие при различных режимах, но государственная монополия в пенитенциарной системе представляет собой дискурсивный вопрос. Представить себе заказ на разработку тюрьмы, более снисходительной, более модной, развитой по законам технической эволюции - вот типичный ход нео-либеральной системы под названием “harm reduction” (снижение вреда). Понятие легитимного наказания прошло путь от телесного истощения узников каменных мешков до процедуры угнетения нейронов головного мозга в машине виртуальной реальности. Превратившись из очевидной старомодной жестокости в методичное и рациональное подавление, наказание, как любой товар, может быть переведено из одного актива в другой, выкуплено или продано. Проект конструирует благожелательное принуждение, созданное на драйверах развлекательных технологий и, если, проанализировать, выглядит как потенциальная аутсорс разработка взаимовыгодной дружбы политиков и капитала. Возможно на эту мысль наталкивает просачивание репрессивных элементов в симуляторы гражданского общества, такие как VRChat, на платформе которого сделан проект и это повод подумать являются ли игры в цифровые демократии новой агорой или полигоном для режимных институтов.
